Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men

In 2012, the Icelandic indie-folk band Of Monsters and Men stormed the international charts with their debut single “Little Talks,” released in December 2011, and conquered radio stations worldwide. The track has since been streamed billions of times, certified platinum on numerous records, and is an integral part of the 2012 soundscape. Their subsequent album, “My Head Is An Animal,” features further hits like “Dirty Paws , ” “Mountain Sound,” and “King and Lionheart,” which cemented Of Monsters and Men’s sound globally. Of Monsters And Men once again explores their diverse influences, creating a sound that “sounds like a band that has come together and played music after a long time,” according to singer and guitarist Ragnar Þórhallsson .

Their most recent album, All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade and infectious first single “Ordinary Creature” delves into the indie realm of their music, where they remain masters of scale, capable of turning hushed introspection into thunderous communal release within a single song.

The majestic Of Monsters and Men are no longer simply the purveyors of early-2010s indie-folk exuberance. They are a band comfortable in contrast, balancing the celebratory rush of ‘Little Talks’ with the emotional complexity of their newer work, delighting fans with their versatility. That balance is complete: reflective without being distant, expansive without losing intimacy, a superb band that reminds audiences why live music matters: the chance to be both hushed into stillness and swept into euphoria
