Steve Pineo Band

The Steve Pineo Band is an exciting and versatile four piece band from Calgary Alberta. Fronting the band, playing guitar, slide guitar and harmonica and writing tunes and arrangements is Steve Pineo. Steve is a 30 year musical veteran, a nationally recognized song writer who’s written songs recorded by Paul Brandt (Canadian Man) and Prairie Oyster (Too Bad For Me), and a tireless musical creator. His annual Christmas show plays for five sold out nights every year at Calgary’s premiere music venue, Ironwood. Steve is also celebrated for his loving nine piece tribute to Elvis Presley. Also not to be missed are Steve’s six piece New Orleans Rhythm and Blues revue -Trickbag and his salute to early jazz-Prohibition Hall. For more than ten years, The Steve Pineo Trio has rocked Monday nights at Mikey’s in Calgary.

Steve is backed by an amazing band. Paul Wells is a keyboardist with a huge catalogue of tunes at his disposal, from blues to jazz to Newfoundland Celtic music. Kelly Kruse is Calgary’s top blues drummer, and a fine singer and guitarist in his own right. Brian Pollock is a soulful and understated bassist who is a long term member of Amos Garrett’s Eh Team.
Expect slinky grooves, tight vocals, catchy and thoughtful songs and a few left turns. This band covers everything from Armstrong to Zappa!
